EN: Through the exploration of the lingering traces of the Spanish Civil War in Madrid's University City and surrounding Moncloa district, Moncloa como palimpsesto (Moncloa as Palimpsest) proposes ways of portraying violence that move beyond war photography and direct representation, and ways of visualizing the impact of the past on the present.
The essay – a dérive from the Parque del Oeste to the center of the University City, from Franco-era newsreels to Blue Velvet passing through Shoah – goes hand in hand with a series of rubbings on cloth and Polaroids produced in the course of this stroll through the scene of the crime.

ES: A partir de una exploración de la persistencia de las huellas de la Guerra Civil en torno a la Ciudad Universitaria de Madrid, Moncloa como palimpsesto propone un modo de retratar la violencia más allá de la fotografía de guerra y la representación directa, así como un modo de visualizar el impacto del pasado sobre el presente.
El ensayo, un divagar desde el Parque del Oeste hasta el centro de la Ciudad Universitaria, desde el NO-DO hasta Blue Velvet pasando por Shoah, va de la mano de un conjunto obra plástica del autor: una serie de frottages sobre tela y Polaroids que son el producto de esta deriva por el lugar de los hechos.
